Jo gives modern touch to German lieder

Korean soprano Jo Su-mi releases her new German lieder album "Iche Liebe Dich" tomorrow.

 

"This album expresses the dream I had since I was a little girl. Growing up, I used to listen to Brahms' 'Wiegenlied' by soprano Elisabeth Schwarzkopf. Although I indulged in Bel Canto opera while I studied in Italy, I always thought someday I want to record a German lieder album," Jo said at a press conference in downtown Seoul yesterday.
