Ex-midfielder to lead national team at 2014 WC

Cho Kwang-rae of Gyeongnam FC has been confirmed as the new manager of the Korean national soccer team.

The Korean Football Association announced on Wednesday following its technical committee meeting that the 56-year-old would take the helm of the national team for the next four years until the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He will replace Huh Jung-moo, who led the country to the second round of the 2010 World Cup -- the first time South Korea had done so on foreign soil -- when it lost 2-1 to Uruguay.
