Korea’s hosting of the Group of 20 summit this week shows how the country has grown and demonstrates its economic power, and will initiate fresh opportunities for economic and cultural exchanges with the world, a U.S. commerce expert said.

 

“The value of hosting the G20 is less about its immediate economic impact than it is about the credibility it provides the host ... In the case of Korea, inclusion in the G20 is itself a sign of the country’s increasing economic power and global significance,” said Dennis Yablonsky, CEO of Pittsburgh Regional Alliance & Allegheny Conference, in an e-mail interview.
