Korea reports first cases of ‘superbug’

The nation’s first two cases of “superbug,” which is resistant to nearly all known antibiotics, have been confirmed, health officials said Thursday.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare said that they detected the multiple-drug resistant bacteria NDM-1 from two long-stay patients at a local hospital in the capital area who had not been abroad recently.
