The main opposition Democratic Party on Tuesday began a nationwide rally against next year’s state budget plan that the ruling Grand National Party railroaded last week.

The GNP, meanwhile, is in dispute over who should be accountable for the omission of key welfare spending plans in the budget bill and squeezing in projects for the constituencies of powerful lawmakers instead.
