Female general vows to become good role model

Col. Song Myong-soon, who is to become the country’s first female Army combatant general next year, vowed to become a good role model for her junior officers Thursday.

 

The Ministry of National Defense announced her promotion as part of the major reshuffle that promoted 111 high-level military officers. Since 2002, five one-star female generals have been named. But they are all from the nursing corps.
