Main opposition Democratic Party Chairman Sohn Hak-kyu on Thursday called for a drastic cut in the budget for the four-river development project, a parliamentary inquiry into the government’s alleged illegal surveillance of civilians and an overall reappraisal of policies on North Korea.

 

“We will fight to defend peace, democracy and the livelihoods of the people even if (the ruling party) brands our efforts as political strife,” Sohn said in a press conference at the National Assembly.
